sunset celebrations for rating tropical sunsets
in the Florida Keys and Key West. The sunset
score card is best used
where the sun's descent into the sea can be seen
unobstructed. Whether from a cruise ship, the
shore, a verandah, resort dock or tiki bar as
long as you are able to face west and look over
the water toward the setting sun this card my be
utilized. It is hoped that this Florida Keys

enough to see the rare green flash you are a "winner". According to an old Scottish legend those
who view the green flash will never err in matters
of love. Since
ancient times people have marveled at this unusual
phenomenon. The flash occurs because sunlight
spreads out in air of increased density just like
water vapor creates a rainbow. For the flash to
occur refracted light must lose color at both ends
of the spectrum. The violet-blue-green end of the
spectrum is usually filtered out or scattered by
air molecules as the sunlight travels a long low
path through the atmosphere. Sometimes only the
violet-blue is filtered leaving the green part and
we see a green flash.
