Smack Dab in the Middle of the Florida Keys

 

The Hawks Cay Resort, the island of Duck Key and the quaint Caribbean conch style vacation house accommodations of Hawks Cay Village are in the center of the 120 mile archipelago known as the Florida Keys.

DRIVING

Travel south on Florida Turnpike to Florida City and the entrance to the Keys.

Little green numbered signs known as mile markers can be seen every mile along the roadway once your in the Keys. Look for Mile Marker 61 on the Overseas Highway (US 1) and you've found Hawks Cay and Florida's Caribbean Island in the Keys.

RENTAL CARS -

You may elect to fly to Miami or Fort Lauderdale and rent a car and drive to the Keys. Rental cars are available in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Key West, and the Marathon Airport. Use the car rental agency map to find the Florida Turnpike and steer south to the Keys. The chain of islands will become noticeable when you reach Key Largo and have passed through the eastern edge of the Everglades. You'll notice some of the ever changing colors of the waters, milky green to blue and aqua, as you drive over many of the 42 bridges that links the islands of the Florida Keys.

The Miami Airport location is a limited service bus stop. For location information, or to purchase a ticket departing from a limited service bus stop, call (800) 229-9424. No Greyhound ticketing is available at the Miami Airport location.

There are four departures each day from the Miami Airport. departures are scheduled to leave at 6:30 am, 12:45 pm, 4:00 pm, and 7:00 pm. Return trips from Key West leave at 6:00 am, 8:45 am, 11:30 am, and 5:45 pm. The trip between detinations takes about 4 hours and 15 minutes.

American Airlines - Instead of flying to Miami or Fort Lauderdale as your end destination , another option is to take a flight which connects with Key West and renting a car there and driving to your final destination. American Airlines offers a connecting flight from Miami to Key West via American Eagle. It also connects from tTampa. Delta Connection, - twice daily nonstop regional jet service between Key West and Atlanta and upgraded Key West-Orlando turboprop service starting in September. Atlanta round-trip flights twice a day departing at 8:30 a.m. and 2:25 p.m. Return flights are scheduled for 11:25 a.m. and 5:25 p.m. aboard 70-passenger Bombardier CRJ700 regional jets. Twice-daily Key West-Orlando turboprop service with 40-passenger Bombardier CRJ200 regional jet flights will depart at 7:35 a.m. and 6 p.m. with return flights at 9 a.m. and 7:35 p.m.
