DRIVING
Travel
south on Florida Turnpike to Florida City and the
entrance to the Keys.
Little
green numbered signs known as mile markers can be seen
every mile along the roadway once your in the Keys. Look
for Mile Marker 61 on the Overseas Highway (US 1) and
you've found Hawk's Cay and Florida's Caribbean Island in
the Keys.

You may
elect to fly to Miami or Fort Lauderdale and rent a car
and drive to the Keys. Rental cars are available in
Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Key West, and the Marathon
Airport. Use the car rental agency map to find the
Florida Turnpike and steer south to the Keys. The chain
of islands will become noticeable when you reach Key
Largo and have passed through the eastern edge of the
Everglades. You'll notice some of the ever changing
colors of the waters, milky green to blue and aqua, as
you drive over many of the 42 bridges that links the
islands of the Florida Keys.

Instead of flying to Miami or Fort Lauderdale as your end

connects with Key West and renting a car there and
