Marathon Community Cinema - MM 50 Oceanside, Marathon
Instead of going to a multiplex theater and being herded into one of a dozen screens with identical rooms take the family to the Marathon Community Theater. Children will love this movie "palace". It is a unique family theater in that it's small and in addition to traditional movie seating it has barrel chairs and cocktail sized tables arranged casually in the front half of the theater facing the large screen. The tables are wonderful for the soda, popcorn, candy, and food available to patrons at the refreshment counter. Arrive early as seating is limited to around 100. The 8 PM time of showing and the movie offerings limit going to Cinema Shores with young children. Sometimes they will show older popular feature films which may be suitable for family viewing. What's unique is the films are shown outdoors under the tropical sky by the resort pool. Thursday night only. $5 with popcorn.
